Billing, cancellation, refunds & restore
Everything you need to know about MindWiki subscriptions in plain English. The contractual terms live in Subscription Terms; this is the practical guide.

What you're paying for
MindWiki offers three plans — Free, Pro, and Power. The current feature breakdown and pricing live on mindwiki.io/pricing and are mirrored in the iOS app at Settings → Subscription.
- Free — $0/month forever. Unlimited pages and storage, search, capture, and export. No credit card required. MindWiki AI and voice are Pro features.
- Pro — $12.99/month or $129/year. Full AI chat (200 turns/month), 60 minutes of live voice, 120 minutes of voice capture, MCP read+write scopes, automation features.
- Power — $29.99/month or $299/year. Pro plus unlimited AI usage and macOS Vault Master.
Yearly plans bill once at signup and renew annually. Monthly plans bill once at signup and renew every month on the same calendar day (or the last day of the calendar month if the original day doesn't exist — e.g., a January 31 monthly renews February 28 / 29).
Auto-renewal
All paid plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. Your payment method is charged automatically at the start of each renewal period unless you cancel before the renewal date. The renewal price is the same as the initial charge unless we've given you advance notice of a price change.
- App Store subscriptions are billed by Apple to the payment method on your Apple ID. Apple emails you a receipt for each charge.
- Stripe subscriptions are billed by MindWiki via Stripe to the card you provided at signup. Stripe emails you a receipt.
How to cancel
Cancelling stops the auto-renewal. You keep paid access for the remainder of the period you already paid for — we do not pro-rate down to the day of cancellation.
If you bought on the App Store (iOS or macOS App Store)
Apple handles cancellation. We cannot cancel an Apple-billed subscription on your behalf — Apple doesn't give merchants that power.
- Open iOS Settings (the system Settings app, not the MindWiki app).
- Tap your Apple ID at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap MindWiki.
- Tap Cancel Subscription.
From a Mac, use apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. The MindWiki iOS app also surfaces a Manage subscriptionbutton (Settings → Subscription) that opens this exact Apple panel via the iOS Customer Center.
If you bought via MindWiki Cloud (Stripe)
- Sign in at mindwiki.io/login.
- Open Account → Billing.
- Click Manage subscription — this opens the Stripe Customer Portal in your browser.
- Click Cancel plan. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds
Refund policies depend on where you bought.
App Store purchases
Apple processes all App Store refunds. Submit a request at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides the outcome. Common reasons that succeed: accidental purchase, never used, app unusable. We can't refund Apple charges from our side, but we're happy to write a supporting statement if you ask at support@mindwiki.io.
Stripe purchases
Email support@mindwiki.io within 14 days of the charge with the receipt date and amount. We honor refunds in good faith for any user who didn't end up using the paid features they paid for, no questions asked.
For renewals where you forgot to cancel and didn't use the paid features in the new period, contact us — we'll usually refund. For renewals where you did use the paid features (AI turns burned, voice minutes used), refunds are at our discretion and may be pro-rated.
Restore purchases
If you reinstall the iOS or macOS app and your entitlement isn't showing, tap Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases. This re-checks Apple's receipt store and refreshes your entitlement. It's safe to run as often as you want.
For Stripe purchases, signing back in with your account email is enough — the entitlement is server-side and doesn't need a separate restore.
Restore is required by Apple for any IAP app and is always available in the Subscription screen.
Changing plans
Upgrading
- App Store (iOS or macOS App Store)— tap the higher plan in Settings → Subscription. Apple bills you the prorated difference immediately and rolls the renewal date.
- Stripe— Account → Billing → Manage subscription. Stripe bills the prorated difference immediately.
Downgrading
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period (you keep what you paid for until then, then drop to the lower plan on the renewal date). Available from the same screens above.
Switching between App Store and Stripe
Cancel the existing subscription first, wait for it to end, then re-subscribe through the other channel. Running both simultaneously isn't supported and we'll only honor one — typically whichever was charged most recently.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, Apple (App Store) or Stripe (Cloud) retries automatically a few times over the next two weeks. If we still can't collect, the subscription lapses and you drop to Free. Your vault and Free-tier access remain. You can re-subscribe any time.
Cancelling vs. deleting an account
These are different actions:
- Cancel subscription — stops auto-renewal; your vault and Free tier remain.
- Delete account — permanently removes your vault and account. See Account & Data Deletion.
Cancelling a subscription does NOT delete the account. Deleting the account does NOT automatically refund the current paid period — if you want both a refund and deletion, ask in the same email.
Taxes
VAT, GST, US state sales tax, and other applicable taxes are calculated at checkout based on your billing address. The tax line is shown before you confirm the charge. Tax amounts appear on receipts. For tax IDs and VAT invoices, email support@mindwiki.io.
Receipts and invoices
- App Store — Apple emails receipts to the email on your Apple ID. Past purchases live at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Stripe— receipts arrive at the account email on each charge. The Stripe Customer Portal (Account → Billing → Manage subscription) lists every past invoice and lets you download itemized PDFs.
Free trial?
MindWiki currently does not offer a paid free trial — the Free plan is intended to be the "try it for as long as you want, no card required" tier. If we introduce promotional trials in the future, terms will be disclosed before purchase per Apple's requirements and posted here.
